Digital Education
Inability is one of the most important causes of digital exclusion and can really be a problem if what we aim for is to reduce it.
This weekend I have been in a little village with only 150 inhabitants, Los Olmos, province of Teruel (Spain). When I arrived they commented me that they were doing a digital education course, to be more exact of how to move for Internet. The interest has surprised me, according to words of David Olivero (the mayor), the course aroused among those that they are carrying out. For them, that open window can show the world that is Internet many things that up to these moments were not to its scope them. Of course it will not be for lack of interest, but yes for lack of capacities.
This council, with very few resources, it has not had been able to sign even an agreement with the Delegation of Teruel so that a telecenter is installed since they should have a person in charge of the center. And the truth is that people do not arrive them even for that.
Therefore, to close that gap that separates us, not only is enough to provide equipment or training, they are also necessary capacities so that certain services are carried out. Although the personal interest in improving is the main instigator. They are thinking about buying by themselves the computers and continuing with their experience in the cyberspace.
