Get in touch with your political representative
In United Kingdom Government insist on the citizens being able to establish direct communication with their political representatives. To two initiatives of those that I already spoke a few time ago (Write to them, Fax your MP) is joined to it now Coucillor.gov.uk "Connecting you with your Councillor". This time it comes promoted by National Projects.
"The ODPM's 22 National Projects aim to create the building blocks to help English local authorities deliver local e-government by 2005.
The Local E-Democracy Project harnesses the power of new technologies to encourage citizens to participate in local decision making.
The councillor data used on this site was provided by Keystroke Knowledge Ltd.
Enter your full postcode. Hit 'Search' and the database will provide a list of the names and political affiliations of your local authority representatives."
Many governments could learn. On the majority of official web pages even a simple e-mail can not be found to get in touch with the politicians.
