Digital Divide in Spain, the cause according to C. Alierta
Pablo Fernández gives the reply with a post in La Tejedora to the intervention from César Alierta, president of Telefónica, in the Senate's industry commission.
Alierta said that the main cause of the Spanish delay is due to the disinterest of the Spanish for the new technologies and says that the solution is to provide training and the digitalization of administrative services. But as Pablo indicates, he forgets to mention the high prices of access, how difficult having a contract with an operator can be or the rates of these technological services.
I agree totally with the appreciation of Pablo, from the operator's performance and easiness of access will depend that the citizens show more interest.
It is easy to make other responsible. Mr. Alierta, you improve the quality of your services and puts the prices of access as the same as European levels and you will already see how increase the number of citizens who show interest in the new technologies.
